Lucid 6-Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Review
Reliable mattress
This is the best darn mattress I have ever bought. I've owned it since Aug 2015, and have even moved across the country with it. For the record, this review is thorough, and therefore, not G rated.
Assembly Factor
Take it out of the box, cut open the bags, and let it rise! Could it be any easier? Mine expanded fairly quickly, and I slept on it about 9 hours after I opened it up, but keep in mind, altitude, as well as humidity, will affect the timing.
Comfy Factor
You don't even feel the mattress when you're asleep on it ... it's like being asleep in space, that's how comfy it is. I'm a cold sleeper and it helps to keep me warm, which is great. My husband is a hot sleeper, though, but this bed doesn't make him sweat all night, either. On our old mattress, he'd toss and turn, but he doesn't at all on this one. You just kind of go comatose in this bed, which is excellent.
Clean Factor
In the fall and spring, I used to like to clean my mattresses by steaming them, and then throwing them outside for a day to bake in the sun and catch a breeze. NOT ANYMORE! I don't have to. It comes with it's own mattress cover, which you just unzip, throw in the wash, and then zip right back on. Easy Peasy. I have spilled red wine, beer, water, coffee, and gosh knows what else on this mattress, and it doesn't have any way to sink through the whole thing given the materials it's made of. I could definitely see this mattress as being perfect for adults and children with issues of incontinence, or just with a terrible habit of having breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed.
Adult Entertainment Factor
This mattress isn't bouncy so, the memory foam allows you to create a sturdy, yet comfortable, base for all your adult activities. The material absorbs sounds created by movement, and even creates an overall dampening effect on the actual bed itself so, if you like to hear the bed squeak, the springs, all that ... get a posturpedic and spend a couple thousand dollars every couple years. —MJH

Lucid 8 Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Review
Affordable mattress with respectable quality
Bought for a Queen size bed in our spare bedroom. 8in is fairly firm, comfortable and perfect for a guest room or smaller child/adult on a regular basis. For the price even a everyday mattress if you get 1-2yrs out of it for the cost, hard to go wrong. No bad smell or strong odor, there might have been a slight odor but that was it at most that might have been the actual packaging and it was gone well before the 48hr recommended expansion time. If I was to use it I might spring for the 10+ in models to get a medium or medium firm. —GM77
Wake up and refresh
Excuse the fact that I have nothing in our bedroom. I like my bedroom like my soul, empty. I call it "good for sleep hygiene" to seem more normal. Anyway, this bed is freaking AMAZING. I mean, for the price point I don't care if I have to buy one every 2-3 years. What a steal. It is definitely more firm than medium-firm, but I bought it because many reviews said it's very firm. I am in love with my in laws' tempurpedic firm Cali King but I don't have $3000 I'm willing to spend at the moment, so this was my best bet. I almost regret buying it because I am having such a horrible time getting up for work because it's too comfortable. Okay jokes aside, the box is huge. Be prepared to lug a massive box to your bedroom. I cut it open with the special tool they provide and it rose to 6in almost immediately. It took about 36 hours to get to the full 8in. My husband is 6'4 and 200lbs, I am 5'4 and 145lbs, he's a back sleeper, I'm a stomach sleeper. We have both woken up incredibly refreshed for the last two weeks. No back pain anymore! —Chris&Julia

Lucid 10-Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Review
Nice thinner mattress
Great firm feel but only 9"! Order up a size for true thickness you are looking for. Love everything about this latex 10 inch mattress. It is heavy, so required two of us to carry it inside. Place it on your platform before unwrapping and be sure the Lucid logo is at the foot of the bed. Then unroll from the UNDERNEATH, then you will have the mattress right side up and won't need to flip it! It is a firm support with the top layer of foam giving it a great feel. You do not sink into it like other foam beds. Love it! The one negative issue I have is the advertised 10". The literature does state this measurement is approximate, but mine is a full one inch less, measuring no more than 9". And the corners are only 8.5". This is after waiting 50 hours for the mattress to fully expand. Although I love this mattress, I would order one size thicker than you really want, just to make sure the end result is closer to your need. —M.P

Lucid 10 Inch Plush Memory Foam Mattress Review
Lives up to my expectation
I bought this mattress to replace a popular air mattress brand I've had roughly seven years. I'm tired of spending thousands of dollars on mattresses that don't last. I was hoping for support, yet cushion for my joints. I prefer a medium-firm mattress for my back, but have trouble with my arms and legs going numb due to pressure on my joints. For reference, I am 5'2 and 110 lbs. I did extensive research and settled on this mattress, and while it does help my issues, it does not provide the pressure relief I was hoping for. The top layer of foam is actually quite firm, I was hoping for a little more cushion and give. I am still tossing and turning due to limbs going numb. It is made out of top quality foam to rival more expensive brands, but the top layer just isn't as soft, but for the price I really shouldn't complain!
On a side note, the mattress expanded fully and then some within 6 hours. It's actually about 10.5 inches tall. The odor wasn't bad- I have severe allergies and asthma and it didn't bother me at all. I did unpackage it a few hours after receiving the package, I have read that letting them sit boxed up may cause them not to properly inflate.
The gel memory foam definitely lives up to the hype of regulating temperatures. I would always go to bed freezing, then wake up hot and take off layers, then wake up freezing again, add more blankets, repeat. I actually don't do that in this bed.
Cliff notes: Nicely made mattress, firmer than expected. If you like something really firm with a little give this is for you, if not I would recommend a thicker, more plush mattress, maybe 14-16 inches. Or, you could get the 10 inch and add a topper if you need more plushness. Cooling gel foam=awesome. —Jessie J

Lucid 10 Inch Latex Hybrid Mattress Review
Lives up to my expectation
Great memory foam mattress with extra cushioning from the top latex layer.
We had a prior memory foam mattress which we really liked but wanted to try something with a little more cushion. This Lucid mattress is still very supportive but has a more plush and cushiony feel. The springiness of the latex layer doesn't hold you in like a traditional memory foam mattress. It arrived quickly, in a heavy but surprisingly small box. The include blue 'letter opener" was a nice touch that made it easy to get the package open. It fluffs up very quickly to most of full size within an hour or two and then expands a little more over the next several hours. I did not get any chemical smell when opening the package unless I purposely took a deep sniff with my nose pressed in the material. After airing out for several hours, I can't smell anything. Also, the chemical smell wasn't actually unpleasant unlike our last memory foam mattress. After several nights sleeping on this mattress, I find that it is superior to our old one in many ways. I love the edge supports that hold you on the bed while the center parts compress more and cushions you in. The latex is more "breathable" so I get less of the sweaty back feeling, though I'm a "hot" sleeper and always have been. I like how easy it was to get in the house (it compresses into a surprisingly small box for a queen mattress). I like that it doesn't transfer motion to my wife and wake her when I come to bed later (and vice versa when I get up early in the morning). I guess it is the innersprings (which are absolutely silent -I'd not know this had springs without reading the specs) that allow it to be just as supportive at 10 inches as our old thicker memory foam mattresses was at 14 inches. At the same time, it's also more "plush" feeling and responds quicker when you rollover. My wife is now able to sleep on her belly which she hadn't been able to before from the memory foam conforming to slowly. All in all this is great mattress with plenty of support and cushion in a good balance —NecroticLucid 10 Inch Bamboo Charcoal and Aloe Vera Hybrid Mattress Highlights

Lucid 10 Inch Bamboo Charcoal and Aloe Vera Hybrid Mattress Review
A little firmer than stated
Mattress arrived as if it had come via a war zone, the box was barely holding together. Some tape on ALL of the seams would go a long way here. After I sneezed to open the box, the mattress was in good condition, thankfully they're not fragile. It arrives rolled up and you open it with their included opener which cut the plastic like a champ. Before I opened the plastic, I hefted it upstairs myself without much issue, besides the wife telling me I'm an idiot and should have waited for her. I'm not sure why, if I fell down the stairs I would have landed on this soft mattress! My one critique here is that the natural way it unrolled made the bottom of the mattress come out on top. This may be entirely random based on who at the factory rolls it, but it would be nice to have it unroll right side up.
I waited for a few weeks to make sure I gave this mattress a fair shake before I reviewed it. It's comfortable. We replaced our old mattress because I was waking up every morning with a sore back. After a couple weeks with this mattress I can safely say that this isn't an issue anymore. If you try hybrid mattress at your local cartel, the firmness seems to be equivalent to the Sealy medium firm hybrid. It's just very slightly stiff for me at 160lbs and a side sleeper but I'm not complaining at all and I'm used to it now, If I sleep on my back the firmness is just about perfect. I tend to have a sleep temperature as if I was on fire, in fact if you lit me on fire I might cool down. That said I don't find this particular mattress to retain much heat for me. The mattress does a great job of isolating movement. I'm not sure if it's the same as a purely foam mattress but it must be pretty close. The wife tosses a lot at night and If I hooked up a generator to her while she slept, she could power the house. On the old spring mattress I would wake up a lot from her movement, but on this one I never feel it (unless I'm getting kicked in the face) and sleep much better. Because this is a hybrid mattress, there are springs in the base layer instead of all foam. I previously mentioned that the all foam mattresses felt dead, well this mattress does give the immediate spring back we're used to. So, when we roll over at night the mattress immediately returns to support you instead of the slow rebound with pure foam. This helps during recreational activities since the mattress gives your bouncing energy back, which means less fatigue. —This NathanLucid 16 Inch Natural Latex + Memory Foam Mattress Highlights

Lucid 16 Inch Natural Latex + Memory Foam Mattress Review
Awesome matress, awesome price --very heavy
I've had it for about 10 months, and after having to move this bed to a new house-- my suggestion is to get a thinner one. This super hard to move due to the fact that it isn't rigid and is very heavy. I don't feel at least for us, that going to a 10" or 12" would be any less comfortable. If you were heavier than us then maybe you need the inches. That said, the bed did get softer over time and while my boyfriend still enjoys it, I could do with a bit more firmness. I would still say that it is cooler than most memory foam but I'm not sure I'd do it again for myself personally. Boyfriend doesn't mind it, but I sleep kinda hot and have woken up sweaty a few times. Oh, also not a bad thing but good to know, the outermost white mattress cover layer can unzip, but you should probably not wash it as it is attached to foam. I took it off partway with the intention to wash it and saw that. So keep it covered with a fitted sheet while moving it if you must.
So I've had this for a little over a month now and I'm very happy with it!
My boyfriend and I sleep on this. I'm 5'1 - 250lbs, he's 6'3 240 lbs. It works for both of us. We both usually sleep on our sides, but occasionally our backs and it works for both. It feels relatively cool compared to some of the other memory foam mattresses I've slept on--but it is still slightly hotter than my old spring mattress. I got some Tencel sheets to go with it (Tencel/bamboo sheets help stay cool) and we sleep with the ceiling fan on so it's works out to be perfectly comfortable.
You will need another person to help you get this thing set up-- even if you're really strong (this thing is heavy!), it's just big and awkward to move alone, and there are little nubs on the bottom of the mattress that make it hard to just scoot around. It unrolls upside down, so my suggestion would be to flip it over, move it where you want it, and -then- unwrap it. It expanded very quickly for us, within minutes it seemed. The smell took a few days to really go away, but we slept on it anyways because our old bed was falling apart, and it didn't seem to hurt anything (aside from our noses).
Edge support is great, I put my socks on at the foot of the bed and I haven't rolled out of it or anything. We put ours directly on the floor. With 16 inches it's high enough, and we can save money up for a platform base eventually. I don't think slats would do so great, this thing is super heavy. —JC
